If you would like to pay your respects to a man who served as a football coach, mentor and father figure to thousands of youth and high school football players in the central valley and beyond, funeral services for the late Tony Perry have been set for Saturday November 25th in Fresno, beginning at 11 a.m. at Peoples Church, 7172 N. Cedar Ave.
Perry was synonymous with Edison High School football, where he was the longtime defensive backs coach. His knowledge of the secondary earned him the nickname, "the DB Guru," and over the last three decades, through his year-round training and 7-on-7 teams, he helped hundreds of high school athletes land college scholarships, and several made it to the NFL.
Perry died Saturday at his home in Fresno at the age of 54.
