TULARE COUNTY, Calif. - Every week in partnership with the Tulare County Office of Education, we tell stories about South Valley students with great character.
He's is one Lincoln Elementary student who will melt your heart. A kindergarten student who blushes when he's recognized for how respectful he is inside of the classroom.
Mario Andrade is a little man with few words. Some may think he's shy, but his dance moves say otherwise.
He bursts with pride when sitting in his "super star" chair; an honor in Mrs. Maffia's class.
"They get to sit in the little recliner. Just helps them feel a little more special," said Mrs. Maffia.
The kindergarten teacher said Mario is the perfect poster boy for 'respect.'
"He's just like everybody's little helper and little buddy. They can always count on him. If he is at a table and somebody is having trouble he will walk over to go help them," said Maffia.
He works hard, is always attentive, and cares for others; an unparalleled character.
"He's cute as a bug, his smile melts your heart, he's kind, he's very smart, and he's very generous of his time to help others out," said Maffia.
