Visalia Police: car theft suspects tried to disguise stolen car

The duo were pulled over due to not having a license plate

VISALIA, California - Two Visalia men are behind bars and charged with stealing a car. Police say the duo tried to cover their tracks.

Police stopped Ton Saephan, 34, and Naigien Saephan, 38, around 9:40 p.m. Friday because their car had no license plate.

Officers soon found out the car had been reported stolen out of Porterville. Police say the car, which was originally a tan color, was spray painted black to avoid being detected.

The duo have been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property.
