Three seriously injured after vehicle crashes into wall in central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - Three people are in critical condition after a vehicle crashed into a wall in central Fresno on Monday, the Fresno Police Department said.

The Fresno Police Department originally said someone had died, but that is not the case.

The crash happened at 11:19 a.m. near Shaw and Marks avenues.

Officers found a Chevrolet El Camino, with total damage, compressed against a large cement support for the railroad crossing located on the south side of Shaw Avenue, police said.

The 59-year-old driver was pinned in the car and had to be removed by the Fresno Fire Department.

Also stuck in the crashed vehicle was a 26-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man.

They were transported to Community Regional Medical Center.

The 26-year-old in critical but stable condition. The driver and 32-year-old are both in serious but stable condition.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
