Vegetation fire burns through 150 acres in Sierra National Forest

A vegetation fire was reported in the Sierra National Forest and has burned about 150 acres, the U.S. Forest Service said Tuesday.

The Ponderosa Fire started Monday around 9 p.m. when unexpected high winds pushed embers across a burn pile containment line.

The fire is located along the Ponderosa fuel break on the Bass Lake Ranger District and is 5 percent contained.
