Update on deadly crash in southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - An update now to breaking news on a deadly crash in southwest Fresno. 

The California Highway Patrol said the driver was heading northbound Walnut, south of Annadale in southwest Fresno. 

Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, officers said the driver crossed over the southbound lanes and hit a telephone pole. 

They're not sure how fast he was going. 

CHP officers said the driver overturned and hit a canal bridge, then hit a second power pole. 

The vehicle came to rest on its roof. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officers have not determined whether drugs or alcohol may have been a factor. 

They are waiting to notify family before releasing his name.
