Three dead, one arrested in crash near Hanford

CHP believes alcohol was a factor

Kings County - CHP says a third person has died and a man has been arrested after a crash near Hanford Monday night. 

The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. at Highway 43 and Idaho Avenue in Kings County.

Initial reports said the driver of a pickup ran a stop sign and hit an SUV. 

Three people inside the SUV died, all were from Corcoran. CHP says a 55-year-old man and 14-year-old boy died at the scene. Their driver, a 44-year-old woman, died at the hospital. Their names have not yet been released.

Carrillo was arrested and also taken to the hospital. CHP believes alcohol was a factor in the crash.

"It's very unfortunate, our heart goes out to those families," Hanford CHP Sgt. Jose Gutierrez said. "This accident probably could have been prevented."

CHP says everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
