Teen suspected of killing great-grandmother

The 74-year-old was stabbed multiple times

Fresno, Calif - A 17-year-old is suspected of stabbing and killing his great-grandmother, according to sheriff's deputies.

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance at a home near Polk and McKinley around 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies say they found a woman in her 70s stabbed multiple times in the upper chest area. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Family members have identified the victim as 74-year-old Lupe Suarez.

Deputies say her great-grandson has been identified as the suspect. He fled the scene, but later returned and was arrested. He may have lived in the home with her. A motive is not known at this time.
