FRESNO, Calif. - A female student was arrested Wednesday after Central West High School was put on high alert for a possible shooting threat, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
School officials said the threat was found in a girls restroom.
A spokesperson with the Central Unified School District said the graffiti contained expletives and the shooting was planned for "12 on Friday."
Central Unified sent out an email to notify the community later Wednesday that an arrest was made.
"Based on evidence and surveillance footage, an investigation by Fresno County Sheriff’s Department led to a female student suspect being taken into custody from her home and transported to the juvenile detention center. The authorities and Central Unified are treating this as a serious offense. We thank the parents for your concerns and reaffirm that student safety is a top priority here in Central Unified," the school district said.
