Son charged in mother's homicide after she was found in burning Fresno home

FRESNO, Calif. - A Fresno man was charged Wednesday in the homicide of his mother -- who was stabbed to death and found in her burned-down house last week.

Winston Max Russell, 30, of Fresno, is accused of killing his mother Bethlyn Webster on May 29.

The Fresno Fire Department originally responded to the house fire, but the Fresno Police Department took over after they found her body.

Russell is charged with one count of murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
