Shooting spree suspect charged with murder in Motel 6 shooting

FRESNO, Calif. - Suspected killer Kori Ali Muhammad was charged Thursday with one count of first degree murder, and another  charge of attempted murder in the Motel 6 shooting from April 13, the Fresno County District Attorney's Office said.

The charges levied Thursday are for the killing of Carl Williams, 25, of Fresno, who was shot and killed after an altercation with Muhammad, the DA said.

The DA said that Muhammad charged in the attempted to shooting of a second security guard.

Muhammad was apprehended after a shooting spree near the Mural District in downtown Fresno where three people were shot to death on Tuesday. The DA said the investigation into those murders is still ongoing.
