Sanger Police Investigate Murder Suicide

Neighbors Say the Couple Was Going Through A Divorce

SANGER, Calif. -- A Sanger husband and wife are dead after an apparent murder suicide.

Police responded to the 900 block of Second Street around 4:30 p.m. on Friday evening.

Police said it appears the man shot his wife.

"I miss her already," said Paola Garcia.

Neighbors close the family are grieving after a woman was allegedly killed by her husband in an apparent murder suicide.

"He could have at least taken his life but why her? She had so many plans," said Garcia.

Police said the son arrived at the home on the 900 block of 2nd Court and found both his parents dead. He said his mother was Sara Segura and she was in her 60's.

Police said a gun and casings were left behind. Garcia said the couple were going through a divorce and there had been signs of trouble in the past.

"He threatened her but I never really thought it would get to this point," said Garcia.

She said Segura was more than just a neighbor.

"She was outgoing, she was talkative, she would smile at everyone," said Garcia.

Now Garcia is left questioning what more they could have done.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there. I wasn't there to protect her," said Garcia.
