Family and friends of a 17-year old Fresno teenager killed in a drive by shooting are holding a rosary tonight. Adalberto Ocampo was walking home near Elm and California in Southwest Fresno Sunday night when he was shot and killed. The rosary began at around 6:00, and about 50 family and friends are in attendance praying for justice for the slain teen. Adalberto was one of six children. He was also a twin. His family says he loved to dance , play games , and hang out with his sisters and cousins.
Family members say he was a role model to many, and they can't comprehend why anyone would want to take his life. Police say he was defenseless when he was shot and killed, and that he wasn't engaged in any kind of criminal activity. "
" It's not going to be the same. It's not going to be as fun, or funny. He's the type of person no matter the situation he makes you laugh. So not having that person is going to be boring", says cousin Alejandra Manriquez.
Adalberto was a senior at Cambridge high school. He would've graduated this year.
His 18th birthday would've been Thursday. Police say the shooter was in a compact car, with two or three other people. If you have any information you're asked to call crime stoppers at 498-stop. You can collect a cash reward and remain anonymous.
