Reading Heart Goes Mobile

A mobile trailer was recently donationed to help Danay Ferguson hand out books.

FRESNO, Calif. -

It's pretty easy to see that Danay Ferguson likes reading and she wants to share that passion with others. "I want to make sure every kid has a book", says Danay Ferguson.

To help expand her ever growing non profit reading heart, she's recently received several large donations. Including a trailer that she plans on transforming into a mobile library, except in it every book is free.

"Kids can come in and pick out a book that they want and then kids that can't come inside can still pick up books from the doors that open", says Ferguson.

When a family friend heard there was a need, they stepped up to help.

Her dad Dwayne Ferguson says, "we basically wanted to be able to reach out to the children who don't have forms of transportation and give books to them over the summer, so I called a friend of mine and his brother who owns Olay Engineering happened to have to trailer".

But that's not all the Ferguson's have recently received. A Warhouse was donated by palm and bullard investments. It's one of three locations they use to house several hundred thousand of these paper and hard back books. Recently package one donated 5,000 thousand heavy duty boxes, these are needed because transporting books is a heavy job.

Danay Ferguson says, "then with the boxes, me and Danyell make the boxes".

With them once school starts she hopes to give even more books out.

"Coming this fall her plans are to reach out to every elementary student and give them a free book", says Dwayne Ferguson.

"She just wants to continue sharing her passion of reading, with everybody", says her mother Vanessa Ferguson.
