Porterville man arrested in child porn case

PORTERVILLE, California - A Porterville man was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he was in possession of child pornography.

Around 9 a.m., detectives from the Porterville Police Department assisted in the execution of a search warrant looking for child pornography at a residence in the 600 block of south Indiana Street.

The Department of Homeland Security -- specifically the unit of Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) was the initiating agency -- who uncovered the downloading of child pornography and tracked the data to the home.

Albert Torrejas, 26, was located in the home and detained without incident, police said. All evidence collected at the scene identified Torrejas as the suspect, uncovering more than 1,000 images of child pornography and the crime spanning over 10 years. 

Torrejas was booked into the Tulare County Jail in lieu of $135,000 bail.
