Police search for suspect who crashed car after high speed chase

FRESNO, California - (Update)

Fresno police are working to confirm that they have detained the suspect who fled officers after speeding on SR-99 at a high rate of speed. Police say officers have detained a juvenile male in the neighborhood of Weldon and Weber. 

The chase was triggered by a shot spotter call from downtown Fresno. Police say the suspect fired at least 20 rounds at a home on the 700 block of C Street. None of the residents inside were hit by gun fire. 

Police say the suspect at times traveled more than 100 miles per hour. He then crashed what appears to be a stolen Honda near McKinley and SR-99.

Police say the suspect then ran into a neighborhood near Weldon and Weber ave. Officers are searching the area for any other possible suspects.
