Police Investigate Suspicious Death at Fresno State Fraternity House

FRESNO - FRESNO, Calif. -- Police and caution tape were surrounding the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity house.

They were investigating a suspicious death involving an unidentified 19 year old Fresno State student.

"I wasn't there I was so determined getting him to safety," friend.

A friend who wishes not to be named said he showed up at the fraternity house on Wednesday afternoon.

He said he found his friend on the porch unconscious. That's when he said he confronted the people outside the home.

"I got here pick him up I say i'm going to call the police why have you not given him water shower or something," friend.

The friend said he took his unconscious friend to St. Agnes Medical Center and called police on the way.

His friend was pronounced dead at the hospital. He said his friend was not a fraternity member, he was just visiting.

He said he was studying neuroscience and biochemistry at Fresno State

"He wanted to put a dent in the universe," said friend.

Police are ruling it is a suspicious death.

The Delta Sigma Phi fraternity headquarters in Indiana also released a statement:

As the investigation continues, it is important to note that this was not connected to any chapter event and occurred during the school's winter break.

Our focus remains on supporting the family and friends of this young man during this difficult time

they add they will work with the university and law enforcement.
