Police Investigate Shooting that Killed Woman in Madera

MADERA, Fresno. -- Madera Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed inside a Madera apartment complex.

Police said it happened on the 700 block of North Granada Avenue at about 2 a.m. on Monday.

37 year old  Latisha Logan was the victim.

Now family and friends are left feeling in shock and heartbroken that their Latisha is gone.

"Why my baby?" said Michael Logan, Latisha's father.

Latisha's father, Michael Logan is still trying to comprehend that he won't see his daughter ever again.

"I am still trying to process it. It's anger, it's fear, it's sadness," said Logan.

Latisha's father said she was staying at her boyfriend's apartment when she answered a knock at the door.
That's when he said a suspect shot her and ran away.

"She fell right there in the doorway," said Logan.

Latisha died at the apartment. Her father said he doesn't know who is responsible but her boyfriend is cooperating with the investigation.

With many questions still left unanswered, Michael Logan is choosing to remember his daughter for her kind and caring character.

"If she would see an old lady working on the yard by herself, she would stop to help. She would help a lot of people right here in this neighborhood," said Logan.

He said she was a stay at home mom, trying to care for her four teenage kids.

Logan adds that he is thankful he got to see her one last time on her 37th birthday on Sunday.

"I told her I loved her. It was just hours before," said Logan.

If you have any information about this crime you are asked to call the madera police department.

Logan set up a GoFundMe page to help with Latisha's funeral expenses and to help her kids.
