Police chase ends with man tazed

FRESNO, Calif. - A police chase ended with two men under arrest after police say the driver crashed his car and the duo ran away.

Fresno police gang officers stopped a car just before 2 p.m. Saturday in the area of McKinley and Fresno in Central Fresno.

Police said as the officers were talking to people inside the car, the driver took off.

Police said officers chased the driver for a short time before the driver crashed near Highway 180 and Blackstone.

Officers say the men ran away but police caught them.

"One did resist as officers were taking him into custody, and officers had to deploy a tazer on that subject. The other subject was taken into custody without incident," said Fresno Police Lt. Rob Beckwith.

Officers checked the area where the men ran and found a loaded gun that had been thrown in a trash can. One of the men was also on probation. They were both booked into jail.
