Mother reunited with daughter after Greyhound bus stabbing incident

TULARE COUNTY, California - It was a sweet homecoming! A mother and her 3-year-old daughter have been reunited after they were attacked on a Greyhound bus in Visalia last week.

On March 5th, just after 2 p.m. on Highway 99 near Caldwell Avenue, a knife-wielding woman got on board the bus. Tulare County Sheriff's deputies say the woman began talking to herself before pulling out a knife and stabbing the mother of a 3-year-old girl.

The 3-year-old girl had marks on her neck but was not seriously hurt. Her mother was stabbed in the stomach and underwent surgery.

The mother was released from the hospital today.

A deputy with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office personally took her back home to Northern California where she was reunited with her daughter.

The suspect, 48-year-old Teresa Ann Madrigal, faces several felony charges including attempted murder.
