FRESNO, Calif. -
As mothers everywhere were showered on this special day, a few chose to spend the morning celebrating a little differently.
Gazebo Gardens held its first ever, "Mommy and Me" class for Mother's Day. Kids had the chance to spend the day painting with their mothers.
"Here we are with all of our moms and family," said Brian Guerrero-Buchhein with Gazebo Gardens.
Nearly 25 kids were out at Gazebo Gardens painting memories with their mothers and grandmothers, on Mother's Day.
"She's so special," said Alina Tateosian, 8, who attended the event with her mother. "I love my mom a lot."
Each kid got a blank clay pot as their canvas to paint something special for their mom. Alina's mom, Ani, said it's something different the two get to share.
"It's just special spending one on one time with my daughter today, it is a special holiday for us so we take advantage of it and spend time together," said Ani Tateosian, Alina's mother.
Guerrero-Buchhein said that's what this event is all about. He said it's the first time they have ever hosted something like this for parents and kids.
"We have moms with their moms out here painting with their kids so I mean it's really amazing to actually see all of this actually happening at our facility," said Guerrero-Buchhein.
Once the kids finished their master piece, Brian varnished it.
The kids then set out to pick a plant they could out in their pot for their mother.
A token of love the two can watch grow into a memory that last a life time.
Gazebo Gardens said the event was a success and they look forward to having a kids class once a month.
