REEDLEY, Calif. - Reedley investigators answering a missing person's report tonight, after pulling a body out of the Kings River.
CHP officers found that submerged car near Manning Avenue and Kings River Road.
Tonight, they pulled the car and body out of the water.
Friends of the family say the man is Samuel Duran. He was reported missing on Sunday.
Pulled from the waters. A silver SUV; green river-weeds stuck in its back wheels.
Two kayakers traveling down the King's River, coming across a terrible sight.
"The vehicle came to rest at the bottom of the Kings River, it was fully submerged, and water was traveling over the top of the vehicle," CHP Officer Greg Makel said.
Divers finding a man's body inside.
"The driver's seatbelt was found to be in the retracted position," Makel said.
Officials say, the car matched a missing person's report filed October 29th.
"He's a resident of Reedley," Makel said. "He was reported missing by his family."
Investigators tell us they don't know what caused the crash, or the cause of death, but believe it happened sometime after midnight Sunday.
"The vehicle made an abrupt turning movement to the left, veered off the roadway and launched approximately 100 to 150 feet down into the Kings River," Makel said.
Now saying, the man's family is distraught.
Officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or saw a Nissan Xterra driving south here on Kings River Road toward Dinuba and Manning avenues, to call the California Highway Patrol.
