There were two more brush fires in Madera County on Sunday: one near Highways 41 and 145 and another in the Yosemite Lakes area.

The first started around 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening close to Highway 41 and traffic was shut down for a short time while firefighters moved in.

Aircraft were brought in to drop fire retardant from above as fire fighters worked on the ground.

Cal Fire says the blaze is 80% contained and charred nearly 500 acres.

The cause is under investigation.

The other fire is yet another fire in the Yosemite Lakes area.

This one burned brush at John Muir and Corral and fire crews quickly contained it to one acre.

This is the latest fire in a string of fires in that area.

Just last Thursday, worried residents met with Cal Fire to try to find out who is responsible for nearly 20 fires over the last month
