Road Rage Ends With Man Being Shot

Police say an argument on Highway 99 escalated into a shooting at Ashlan and Valentine in northwest Fresno.
An apparent case of road rage turned violent Thursday night.  Police say a man was shot and injured at the intersection of Ashlan and Valentine, then parked in the lot of the nearby AM-PM Arco Station.

Police say the people inside the victim’s black Honda were involved in a dispute with a group in another vehicle out on Highway 99 and it spilled over to Ashlan Avenue.  When they got to the traffic light at Valentine, someone fired several shots through the windshield of the Honda and struck the 25-year old man who was driving once in the upper body.

The extent of his injuries was not clear Wednesday night, but he is expected to survive.
No arrests have been made, but the cops do have a good description of their car to key in on.

“A newer white Toyota Camry.  Two Asian males and one Asian female were in the vehicle and so far that vehicle is still outstanding,” said Sgt. Mike Smith of the Fresno Police Dept.

there were 3 other people in the victim’s car; two young women and an 11 year old girl.  they were not injured, but obviously shaken up.

Police closed eastbound Ashlan at Valentine for a couple of hours as they collected evidence.
