Rescue the Children Grand Opening

A dedication ceremony was held for the brand new Rescue the Children facility, an extension of the Fresno Rescue Mission for women and their children.
A dedication ceremony was held Friday for the brand new Rescue the Children facility, an extension of the Fresno Rescue Mission for women and their children.

The new facility is an 18-month transformation program for at-risk mothers and kids who need a place to heal their lives.

Over the last few years, the Vagabond Inn has been overhauled and is now ready to house about 75 women and 100 children.

Reverend Larry Arce with the Fresno Rescue Mission said, "What you see here today is a blessing, but more than anything it's a dream that's become a reality. It's a miracle, all that God has been able to provide to the citizens of our community."

Project leaders say the idea for Rescue the Children came about following the closure of the Craycroft Center for at-risk kids several years ago.
