Proposition 8 supporters not giving up

Proposition 8 supporters are considering their next more after the U.S. Supreme Court decided not to hear the case.
Proposition 8 supporters are considering their next more after the U.S. Supreme Court decided not to hear the case.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled Prop 8 sponsors did not have legal grounds to appeal an earlier decision striking down the ballot measure.

Some church leaders feel that takes power away from the people.

CBS47 talked to Prop 8 supporter, Pastor Jim Franklin, who said, "Very surprised on the case of Prop 8, because basically what the Supreme Court did, was they punted. They decided not to decide and said we didn't have standing and kicked it back to a lower court."

Prop 8 was originally passed in 2008 before being overturned by a district court judge.

Pastor Franklin says he wants to learn more about the ruling before he can say what the next step might be.
