What started off as an idea to entertain fans at a Grizzlies baseball game, has turned into an internet sensation virtually overnight.
The Kiss Cam video was posted on YouTube and got people wondering if it was real or fake.
The video was from Friday, May 3rd and you could see people kissing when they saw themselves on the big screen, which is what you're supposed to do.
On the video posted on YouTube, you can see Kelly and Daniel sitting next to each other. When Kelly wants a kiss, Daniel is too busy on the phone. They make a couple more appearances and in the end, Kelly is fed up and dumps her drink on him.
CBS47 talked with the "couple" on Thursday. "I had heard a rumor that it had been on a local news channel and I thought it was just a filler for some extra time to fill but the next morning it was at 300,000 views on YouTube," said Kelly.
Just a few days later, it has more than 1 1/2 millions views and has been shown on national television.
But the thing is, it was all fake. "We decided you know, there's going to be a pretty big crowd we should do what we can and try and get the people to laugh that's our job here at the Grizzlies to make sure they have a good time," said Kelly.
It turns out they both work for the Grizzlies. Kelly is with promotions and Daniel works in the Kid's Fun Zone during the games. "We are the ones that are doing all the on-field games with Parker. We're the ones who are basically the cheerleaders for the Grizzlies," said Kelly.
In the end, fake or not, the video has people talking and Kelly hopes that brings more people to the park.
