Hundreds of Fresno Unified Elementary students will roll into the summer with brand new bicycles.

An organization in Fresno called "Off the Front" donated the bikes.

Off the Front is a non-profit that works to fight childhood obesity and increase academic achievement.

Mike Slayden with Off the Front said, "Our hope for the kids is they would understand that... man, I can achieve a 9-month-long goal which is a big deal. As a 4th grader, as a 10-year-old, to see... to start something in September and to not see the result of that until June."

For students to earn the bike, they must meet certain goals and benchmarks in education and health.

This marks the fourth year that the group has donated bikes to Fresno Unified students.
