FCC Athlete Shot

Friends say 19-year old FCC track star Paris Turner was shot at a party Friday night.
As night fell at Fresno City College one of its star athletes used to fighting for first found herself fighting for life.

F
riends of Fresno City track star Paris Turner say she was at a party Friday with teammates when a group of people showed up uninvited and not long after they were asked to leave, the unthinkable happened.

"I heard four gunshots but I wasn't sure they were gunshots, initially I just thought they were firecrackers," said one witness, who did not want to be identified.

Witnesses say one of those shots came through the window and hit Paris in the head. Teammate and friend Aireanna Johnson found out about the shooting on Facebook after deciding not to go to the party and like many others on the team she is holding out hope that Paris will overcome this hurdle like so many before.

"She is an All-American track athlete so you know I am just hoping that she has a 100-percent recovery," said Johnson.
