A driver was killed when his car slammed into a group home in Porterville Monday evening.
The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. near Road 236 and Avenue 116.
The California Highway Patrol says the man left the roadway, accelerated to about 80 miles an hour and crashed into the home.
The man died at the scene.
There were 15 people inside the group home at the time of the crash but none were injured.
The man was reportedly undergoing treatment for Valley Fever but it's not known if that was a factor.
