Cyclist injured in hit and run in Fresno

A 17-year-old boy was injured when he was struck by a vehicle, possibly on purpose, near Cedar and Huntington in Fresno.
Fresno police are looking for a hit and run driver who sent a teen to the hospital.

The 17-year-old was riding his bike with a friend around 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the area of Barton and Balch, near Cedar and Huntington in Fresno.

A blue SUV with two people inside drove up and hit the teen and witnesses believe the vehicle hit the boy intentionally.

Lt. Joe Gomez with the Fresno Police Department said, "There is an indication that he may have been hit on purpose, that's a possibility. It's hard to say right now."

The teen has injuries to his upper body but is expected to survive.

Police are looking for a blue Avalanche-type SUV.
