Cancer patient celebrates with graduating class

Duncan Polytechnical student Mark Guajardo, diagnosed with cancer a year ago, was able to graduate alongside his twin brother on Wednesday.
One year ago, the life of a high school senior changed dramatically, after he was diagnosed with cancer.

But on Wednesday night, Mark Guajardo was able to graduate alongside his twin brother at a ceremony held at the Saroyan Theater in downtown Fresno.

The Duncan Polytechnical student has been receiving intensive chemotherapy for cancer that has spread to his lungs.

Mark has continued to keep up with his studies at home and at the hospital.

Mark said, "Just stay strong... You gotta stay strong and have faith that you'll get better."
