Animals Seized by SPCA

Sixty-one animals were seized by the SPCA from a property in Squaw Valley
Sixty-one animals seized from a property in Squaw Valley are showing small signs of improvement.

The birds, dogs, cats, and one pig were seized from a supposed rescue organization.

Investigators say they were found tied up and in cages with no access to food or water and the animals were starving.

"We consider them in guarded condition especially the dogs they were the most emaciated our little pig she is certainly underweight but everybody's eating so that's really encouraging," says Beth Caffrey from the SPCA.

The SPCA is trying to determine if the animals can recover and have a decent quality of life.

They are also pursuing an animal cruelty case against the property owner.
