Firefighters are battling a massive wildfire in Kern County.  The Way Fire, located in Wofford Heights, has scourged over 3,000 acres and is not contained at all.  The Kern Fire Department says steep terrain, dry conditions and low humidity are the challenges they are facing.  Over 200 buildings are threatened by the wildfire, which erupted Monday afternoon.

Recommended evacuations are in place for nearby communities. An evacuation center has been established at Kern Valley High School.  For more information on the Way Fire click here.
