Tulare County leading the nation in ag production

Tulare County is the new top ag producing county in the nation. The former leader, Fresno County, released it's 2013 crop report on Tuesday. Ag production there was worth $6.4 billion, more than a billion dollars less than Tulare County's numbers. The decline in Fresno County is being attributed to the lack of water on the west side. Fields have been drying up, less crops are being produced and a lot of farmers are using what little water they have to save trees. Similar things are happening in Tulare County but a good year for the dairy industry boosted the county to the number one spot.
