Clovis House Fire

Late Friday night , Clovis Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 1400 block of Fir Avenue.  Neighbors spotted the fire at 11:09 pm and called the fire department . Clovis and Fresno County Fire got on scene within 6 minutes and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic.  Fire crews searched the house , but the fire became to big and the fire crew had to get out . It was later determined that no occupants were inside at the time of the fire. The fire was controlled within 30 minutes and fire units protected surrounding structures. No injuries to occupants or firefighters were sustained as a result of the fire. The cause is still under investigation.

Seven units and twenty two personnel, including resources from Clovis Police Department and American Ambulance responded to the incident. Preliminary estimates place damages to the unit at $255,000, plus personal belongings.
