FRESNO, Calif. - Warm temperatures always create health concerns but experts said this years Central Valley weather has changed so much that the heat can easily catch people by surprise.
Surf Thru Express Car Wash Manager Servando Camacho said summers are rough for his team of outdoor working employees.
"It's very hard especially on the weekends especially now that it's started to warm up. The temperature inside of the car washing tunnel does get 15 to 20 degrees warmer with humidity," he said.
So early in the summer season, they're prepared.
"We are constantly switching out with them making sure they stay hydrated. We don't want them to overheat, said Camacho.
Practices Valley Children's Hospital Pediatric Emergency Medicine Doctor Robert Kezirian recommends.
"Always have plenty of water on hand no matter where you go," said Kezirian.
He said when the heat hits, it hits hard, and this years' sporadic weather will hit everyone by surprise.
"The temperature has changed drastically and we haven't gotten used to the heat," he said.
He said best thing you can do for the oncoming summer is to be prepared with appropriate light clothing, protective gear such as big hats and sunglasses, and always use sunscreen.
