ICE arrest to continue in the Central Valley

"Lupe" who did not want to show her face on camera said her husband's brother "Mauro" is among the 150 undocumented individuals ICE has arrested since Sunday.

"When my husband told me that he had called him from the detention center I couldn't believe it."

According to family members "Mauro" was taken to Fresno's ICE Detention Center located on L street.

Camille Cook immigration attorney says now more than ever those who live in the US illegally should learn their rights.

"If you end up in ICE custody you should remain silent the only thing you have to tell them is your name especially if the person ends up being detained because they are at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Cook.

ICE Deputy Director Thomas D. Homan said  these sweeps have been occurring due to sanctuary city policies adopted by some California cities and counties.
Fresno County Sheriff agrees.

"We have a lot of hard-working immigrants out in our community that don't get arrested now as a result ICE is our in our community and now those who are not committing crimes are afraid," said Sheriff Margaret Mims.

Lupe, said because of what happened she now lives in fear that she might be next.

"A lot of people don't believe that ICE is conducting these raids but they are just looking at my family."
