"Hot Felon" behind media frenzy out of Fresno County Jail

Mirella Ponce Released After Pleading Guilty To Felony

Mirella Ponce, the 20-year old Fresno woman who has been at the center of a social media frenzy since being arrested on Oct. 23 on a variety of felony charges, including child endangerment has been released from the Fresno County Jail.

This is the first image of her release as she emerges from the jail.

Earlier Wednesday, Ponce pleaded guilty in court to a single felony charge of carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. The three other felony charges were dismissed -- which included carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of a  firearm with probation restriction, and child abuse and endangerment.

Ponce was found in her vehicle with her infant child and two other gang members during her initial arrest.

Her mug shot went viral after it was posted on the Fresno Police Department Facebook page, gathering thousands of likes and shares.

The mug shot has captured national and international attention.

Original "Hot Felon", Jeremy Meeks of Stockton has encouraged Ponce to pursue professional modeling.  Ponce is scheduled to be back in court for sentencing on the felony conviction later this month.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 18.
