Home invasion in Clovis leaves neighbors on edge

CLOVIS, Calif. - A home invasion has residents of a Clovis apartment complex on edge.

Police said three men kicked in the door of one unit in the 1200 block of Scott Avenue. All three men were arrested.

Suspects Prince Ash, 31, Eugene Spagner, 29, and Antoinne Simpson, 28 are all from Fresno.

Police said the men targeted an apartment with a man, his wife, a relative and a young child. Police said one of the victims grabbed a gun and shot one of the suspects in the hip but was then hit on the head by another suspect's gun.

When police arrived, they caught two suspects as they tried driving away.

They found the third suspect on the sidewalk tending to his gunshot wound.

Neighbors can't believe it happened and say the victims are great neighbors.

"The kids are so sweet, it just makes me sick to my stomach," said an anonymous neighbor.

The two men who tried to get away are in jail. The suspect who was shot will be booked into jail as soon as he's out of the hospital.
