Girl, 12, hit and killed by truck in southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - A 12-year-old girl was killed when she was struck by a pickup truck in southeast Fresno on Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP originally said the girl was 13 but later confirmed she was actually 12.

It happened at 6:34 a.m. at Armstrong and Butler avenues.

The truck was traveling south on Armstrong Avenue, and the vehicle's headlights were on at the time of the accident.

The girl was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where she died.
