Fresno man jailed after found walking with assault rifle, police say

FRESNO, California - A Fresno man was jailed after police say he was walking down the street with an assault rifle on Monday.

Detectives from the Multi Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) were patrolling an area of southeast Fresno when they heard gunfire in the 3200 block of east Clay Avenue, the Fresno Police Department said.

When they arrived, they saw a man walking with an assault rifle and holding a canister of ammunition.

Detectives confronted the man who was initially uncooperative and intoxicated, police said.

Juan Rolons, 26, later complied and was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of possessing the rifle.
