The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Fresno County and surrounding areas from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Saturday.
The city of Fresno is recommending that residents take action in anticipation of the freeze warning.
When the weather drops below freezing temperatures pipes and plants are impacted. The water in pipes expands potentially causing pipes to burst.
It is recommended that people remove hoses from outside faucets, shut off water faucets and drain hoses. Insulating exposed valves and pipes with rags, newspapers, or electric heat tape is also recommended.
Plants should be covered with burlap, blankets, or polymer sleeves.
Watering should remain limited during the winter. Addresses ending in odd numbers should only water on Saturdays. Addresses ending in even numbers should only water on Sundays. Watering is not allowed between 9 a.m. And 6 p.m.
