Former Valley police officer turned author signs books in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - A former Central Valley police officer turned author was in Fresno Saturday for a book signing.

Dustin Dodd wrote Savage Justice, a fictional novel inspired by true stories from when he worked in the Valley.

Dodd now works for Napa Police Department, but he returned to Fresno Saturday to speak at a Sisters in Crime meeting.

The book which was released a couple of years ago, is action-packed, a thriller, and has some humor.

Dodd said the book offers a  unique perspective from a K-9 police officer on emergencies such as murders, police chases and drug busts.

I want to show people what it's like to se through the eyes of the officer," said Dodd. "When you're tired, when you have constraints, when you have politics, when you have all the things that are taking into play, in addition to enforcing the law, and having to do the right thing all the time."

Dodd hopes to publish two more books.

You can purchase Savage Justice through Amazon or Barnes and Noble for $12 to $13. Dodd also sells autographed copies of the book for $15 at SavageJustice.com.
