Former Deputy Police Chief Keith Foster Found Guilty on Two Counts

FRESNO, Calif. - Former Deputy Police Chief Keith Foster has been found guilty on two counts of the eight counts he was charged with.

A federal jury found Foster, 53, guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.

The jury came out deadlocked on the other six counts.

Foster resigned from his position on April 3, 2015, one week after his arrest.

In the second day of their deliberations, the jury came back with the verdict just before 2:00 p.m.

Foster is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 10.
