Family, friends hold vigil for Chowchilla Union HS graduate murdered in Arizona

CHOWCHILLA, California - Tonight the Chowchilla community is honoring 19-year-old Kinsey Beebe, after she was found murdered in Flagstaff, Arizona last week.

The vigil is taking place in the parking lot of Chowchilla Union High School.

Beebe graduated in 2016, and just moved to Flagstaff with her mom and 5 siblings. Her friends and family say they are remembering her as heartfelt, beautiful and very sweet girl.

Police said 22-year-old Abraham Puentes Ortiz, and 20-year-old Adonis Velarde, shot and killed Beebe last Wednesday. They said Velarde was Beebe's boyfriend

Police said Beebe, Ortiz, and Velarde were hanging out at an apartment. The suspects had been drinking, and a heated argument ensued with Beebe. They say Velarde turned himself in, possibly out of fear of that Ortiz might kill him. Ortiz was subsequently arrested, and police said he was armed with a loaded glock. Both men are associated with gangs, according to police.
