Elm fire just south of Coalinga reaches 3,500 acres burned

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. - Six structures are threatened as fire crews work to put out a grass fire just south of Coalinga that has burned 3,500 acres so far.

The Elm fire is burning at Highway 198 and Alcalde Road.

There is still no measurable containment. Firefighters are facing steep and rugged terrain along with high winds.

Highway 198 is closed from west of Coalinga to the Monterey County line.

No other information was immediately available.
