Driver hits and kills man in Sanger

SANGER, California - Sanger Police are investigating an early morning collision that killed a man.

Police responded to the intersection of Bethel and Jenni streets just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning.

When officers arrived they found a male victim lying in the roadway. Life-saving efforts were preformed but unfortunately the man died on scene.

Police have identified him as 39-year-old Tommy Wright of Sanger. 

Police say the driver did not see Wright in the roadway and struck him. The driver did stay on scene and called 911.

A witness at the scene says the man was laying in the roadway prior to being struck. Investigators are trying to determine how and why he was lying in the roadway.
