Downtown Fresno Car Dealership Will Get Major Makeover

FRESNO, Calif. - A longtime business in Downtown Fresno will get a major makeover. After 72 years, Haron Jaguar Land Rover will demolish their current location near Ventura and L street, and re-build a larger showroom in the area.

The Jaguar and Range Rover car dealership in Downtown Fresno is the only location you can buy the luxury cars in between Sacramento and Los Angeles. Haron's opened up in this exact location in 1945 by James Haron's father, Charles Haron Sr.

James said, "Seventy-two years later and in the same spot, getting ready to build."

James is second generation, and his daughter hilary is the third. They said business has expanded over the years, so their old building has to grow as well.

"We're gonna go from 12,000 square feet to 43,000 square feet. Our sales area will triple, our parts department will quadruple, and our service department will more than double," stated Hilary.

Hilary said changing locations was never an option. She said it makes them unique to be in the urban area, and now a part of the growing Downtown Fresno revitilization project.

She said, "I've always really been interested in things going on down here, what's gonna happen with downtown, how's it gonna go, how's it gonna grow, and we want to be a part of that."

"Being in this location, it gave us an advantage of not having high overhead," stated James.

The Harons' said the construction process could take up to 18 months. In the meantime, they'll remain open at a site near Van Ness and Ventura.

James ended, "We love our clients, and we try to treat them with the utmost respect like they're our family and cousins. And as long as we do that, I think we'll be very successful."

Demolition begins next Tuesday at 6pm.
