FRESNO, Calif. -

The Discovery Center in Fresno is getting a major facelift.
Saturday morning a VIP pancake breakfast was held so that people could observe the children's museum for the last time, before the changes begin. In November Home Depot will begin working on the front landscape and paint. The Fresno North Moms Club hopes to bring awareness to the center to help get volunteers and sponsors. Soon the museum will have a medical office, a bank, water exhibits, as well as math and science exhibits.
Officials say they are excited about the upgrades.
"This is a hidden gem it has been around for 65 years and people have forgotten about this place and that has been our goal, to bring it back to life", says Debbie Milla, executive director for the Discovery Center.
"The foundation of the discovery center is fabulous, it's been here since the 1950's and it's really time to bring it into the current century", says Heather Ferreira, secretary with the Fresno North Moms Club.
